what do you think of the word "dunderhead"
In fic, I often see Snape referring to others as "dunderheads". Why is that? Did it appear an inordinate amount of times in canon? Is it just a great word that is so Snape? Do fanfic writers overuse it?

1) Don't know.
2) No. Only once that I can remember.
3) In the opinion of fanfic writers, apparently yes. I don't think I've ever used it, because I think it's very clunky and awkward sounding and makes him sound as if he were born in the 1830s.
4) Yes.

I'm not a fan, can't you tell? ;)
